Question – “When was the last time you took some time out to unwind?”

A: I can’t remember

B: I don’t have time

C: I don’t know how

D: All of the above

We think it’s about time you did something about it. Everyone deserves a break and Porktie knows just the place – El Born’s Arabic Spa ‘Aire de Barcelona’.

Aire de Barcelona is the result of a stunning renovation project that has transformed a former medieval wash-house into a luxury twenty first century city retreat.

Hundreds of years ago the site was home to the city’s public baths, but now this beautiful old building has undergone the ultimate makeover. The ancient wells of the city’s water system have been dusted down, cleaned up and filled with crystal clear waters, just waiting for you to plunge into and wash your worries away.

The stunning spa is a modern day replica of traditional Arab Baths that were common throughout Spain five hundred years ago when the Arabic occupation of the country was at its peak. The Islamic world viewed bathing as an act of relaxation and purification – so they took water pretty seriously. They created a nationwide network of public baths, each containing a selection of pools heated to different temperatures, each designed to relax the body’s senses in a different way. They were well ahead of their time! Now, some five centuries later, these bathing methods can provide the perfect salvation from the demands of modern day life.

By bringing back this ancient tradition, Aire de Barcelona say they want to offer their customers “relief for the body and peace for the mind” - and the spa experience certainly lives up to this promise.

A far cry from those lonely nights in your bathtub with your rubber duckie, this place is the Rolls Royce of chilled out bathing. And once you’ve paid a visit to Aire de Barcelona the weight of the world will be well and truly lifted from your shoulders.

The spa boasts a heated marble relaxation room, three hot and cold pools heated to temperatures of 16, 36 and 40 degrees, a serene salt bath and a relaxing Jacuzzi. In the twenty-four hour stress-fest of modern life, there is always an excuse for not giving yourself a break; “no money” or “no time”. However, at Aire de Barcelona you are greeted with a range of affordable treatments and if you work late, so do they. With a late night closing time of 2am there really is no room to hide behind the excuses.

A wise man once said, “The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it”. Indulge yourself for a change.

Question – “When is the next time you’re going to take some time out to unwind?”

A: Visit Aire de Barcelona today

B: Visit Aire de Barcelona tomorrow

C: Visit Aire de Barcelona this weekend

D: All of the above
