Lobby

Launch Magazine

As the area continues to rise in popularity, trendy boutiques keep sprouting up every month across Born.

But as scores of wannabe fashion moguls scramble to steal a foothold on the area’s lucrative streets, one store has been riding high on the crest of Born’s wave for over 6 years. Hop on board as we take you on a style ride across the 2 floors of Born’s uber stylish boutique ‘Lobby’ – where clothing, artwork, cosmetics, books and even bikes are all stylishly spilt across 2 splendid levels.

When you enter Lobby’s top floor through the glass fronted exterior, you’ll find an array of products that have little in common barring the immaculate way they are presented. As you meander through the relaxed and airy surrounding’s, you’re constantly enticed by the mixed bag of items on display.

Everything looks interesting! Cameras, perfumes, books and other “curious objects” (as described on their website) are all wonderfully exhibited, creating a sophisticated style that just exudes from the spacious shop floor. It’s the kind of place where you could quite easily leave with one of everything! You can visit Lobby with the intention of finding a small gift for someone else and leave with 10 things for yourself…..and that’s just the upstairs!

When heading downstairs you will see why Lobby has become one of the fashion playgrounds of choice for Born’s well heeled and stylish crowd to indulge in a spot of retail therapy. The open brick walls of the basement are lined with some of the most desirable and original threads in the area. Much of this much sought-after clothing comes from lesser known brands – making Lobby a regular haunt for fashion savvy locals seeking a truly individual outfit.

Aside from the clothing, there are plenty more “curious objects” to be found downstairs. Bicycles from trendy manufacturer Johnny Loco are randomly perched alongside clothing racks, whilst a selection of artwork from the shop’s latest exhibitor Roger Cosme Estéve hang from exposed brickwork.

And should you need a little rest while perusing this multifunctional space, there’s even a small bar where you can recharge your batteries over a coffee.

This elegant shopping experience is located directly behind the huge building site where the metal shell of the old Mercat del Born still stands. Perhaps those working on the construction site next door could get a few tips from Lobby, having built up one of the most talked about and revered attractions in the area.
